Gromit

Gromit

Domestic Medium Hair - male

Gromit and his brother Gryff were rescued from inside a suburban roof at Minto and came into DCH care at only 3 weeks old. They were initially very shy and scared and have taken weeks to become accustomed to being handled. Now they love the attention!

THESE BROTHERS ARE BONDED ARE MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER. They don't stray far from each other and cry out if one gets "lost" in another part of the house.

Gromit is the more adventurous of the two brothers and is usually the first to explore new areas and toys. Although he still bolts when startled, curiosity wins over and he is quick to pop his head back out.

Gryff & Gromit are very shy and ADOPTERS MUST BE PREPARED to win their trust over a few weeks (it won't happen instantly). It has taken me nearly a month but it was well worth the wait to see how affectionate and loving they have become - like my little shadows!

A quieter home with one or two adults (no children), would be perfect for these kittens to thrive. They are both getting used to friendly dogs and are coping well.

The $225 adoption fee includes microchipping, worming/flea-treatment, first vaccination (of 3), and desexing (booked in for 17/09/21). Gromit is also litter-trained and eating both wet and dry Royal Canin Kitten food, with lots of fresh, clean water.

Please use the "Send enquiry email" link below, if you have any questions or if you are interested in adopting Gromit & Gryff. If you are renting, please ensure that you have approval for a cat BEFORE you lodge interest.

You must be over 18 years old to adopt an animal.

Gromit was adopted on 19 September 2021 after 2 months in foster care

Gryff is the bigger of the brothers and a little cuddly sook! He loves a head scratch and belly rub, and will push Gromit out of the way to get attention. Gryff is also the first to disappear if there is an unknown noise but he is starting to become much more confident around the house.

Mia

Bondi

Bondi

DSH - male

Bondi was found by himself at a local shopping center. He came into care scared and timid, but still quite affectionate. He has now warmed up to his foster carers and enjoys sleeping on their chests or curling up beside them. He is an absolute purring machine. He is very energetic and playful, but can still get jumpy around strangers.

Bondi will need to go to a home that will be patient with him while he adjusts to a new home. We feel he would benefit going to a home with another cat as he does enjoy the company of our resident cats, and also no young children.

Well socialised in a family environment with older children and two resident cats.

Bondi needs to go to an indoor only home. He is fully litter trained and comes microchipped, desexed, up to date on vaccinations, flea and worm treated. Bondi is available now.

If you are wanting to open your home to this beautiful boy please send an enquiry. He may take a while to adjust but you will be rewarded with cuddles and purrs.

Please provide us with as much information about your family and home when enquiring.

Starr

Starr

Domestic shorthair - female

Meet smoochy Starr. Starr and her brother came into care as strays after their feeder moved away and left them to go free. Both Starr and her brother are very loving and smoochy cats. They both adapted to using litter trays within hours of being brought indoors and are absolutely loving indoor life, with no desire to be let outside ever again. They just want love, cuddles and regular food. Starr would love to be rehomed with her brother, but she would do equally well on her own. If you are interested in Starr, please contact me so we can organise a COVID safe introduction.

Tigger

Tigger

shd - male

Tigger is the smaller brother of Cheddar. Both boys came into care with two brown tabby siblings. All of them have been re homed now except him. The other three gradually tamed up.

He is a shy boy who isn't a lap cat but is no trouble at all to have around. He is litter trained, not fussy with his food and gets along with other cats and a small dog.

Unfortunately he wasn't rescued off the streets until he was 12 weeks old. Still a kitten, but that is already too old for some cats to truly bond with people. Tigger will hide from people and will generally hiss if you attempt a pat (although it is usually a bluff and he does seem to enjoy the pats when he gets them) but he can sometimes swipe if he feels cornered.
He's might not end up being a normal family pet but he's such an unassuming young boy with such a great nature around other animals and so quiet and easy to have around it would be a shame for him to miss out on a loving home.

He has had all his vaccinations, is de sexed, microchipped and vet check and is ready to go to a good home with someone who has loads of patience and love.

He does interact with other kittens including playing, sleeping and hangs around the dining table for scraps.

Tigger was adopted on 20 August 2021 after 7 months in foster care

Rudi

Rudi

DSH - male

Rudi is a big kitten and is going to be a very big boy when he is full grown. And while Rudi spends most of his day in his own company sleeping in front of the window or in a sunny position, Rudi enjoys cuddling up to his foster mum of an evening. Rudi is not a real fan of being picked up, however Rudi accepts affection and pats when given and as the nights get cooler he snuggles up in on the couch with his foster mum to watch TV.

Rudi has been raised with other foster kittens, cats and dogs, and gets along with them all and as he gets older he gets cheekier with the dogs particularly.

Rudi is ready for his forever home now and he has been desexed, microchipped and he has had all 3 of kitten vaccinations and parasite protection.

Rudi is available to meet at his foster home in Bligh Park once the Greater Sydney COVID stay at home restrictions ease.

As we currently receive a lot of enquiries for our kittens, please include relevant details about yourself and your home/other pets, to be considered.

If you are renting, please ensure that you have approval for a cat BEFORE you lodge interest.

You must be over 18yrs old and an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident to adopt an animal from DCH.

Rudi was adopted on 13 August 2021 after 4 months in foster care
