Cattle x - female
True to her breed, Nina is a happy, confident, curious and alert pup. She learns fast and has puppy charm in abundance. She has begun basic training and is learning to sit for her food and stop at the back door. A real cutie.

Greyhound - male
Let me introduce Thumper, after a not so successful racing career, Thumper is looking for a new family to enjoy his retirement with. He is currently in foster care with another greyhound and a boxer and has settled in like he has been here for ever. He is quite happy to just lounge around all day in the sun and relax. He needs no more exercise than any other breed of dog and when he does go out he is a total gentleman in the car and to walk. Thumper is really low maintenance and is suitable for a home with smaller dogs and children as he loves both. Please don't be put off by his breed, greyhounds make the most lovely family pets.

Cattle Dog x - female
Bronte is a happy little girl with a carefree spirit.. Nothing seems to bother her much and she is learning more as she grows every day.. She knows her name which she learnt quickly? and currently enjoys the company of the other 2 pups she is staying with? While she loves to play she is also the pup who loves to curl up with her human after her dinner and regularly goes to sleep on her foster mum's lap after she has had cuddles? She was the first of the pups to work out that there was a way out of the puppy yard they are in so that she could interact and play with the adult cattle dogs where she is living at the moment.. She is a brave little soldier who didn't hesitate to run up to the big dogs wanting to meet and play with them? She appears to be an adaptable little girl who would probably suit most situations, and although she hasn't been around children, she is a lot like her brother Jovi was, and he has just been adopted by a family with children.. I believe she would be as gentle with kids as he is..

Samoyed x - male
Poor Simba was rescued from the pound with a terribly matted coat. While he was under being desexed the vet staff tried to brush out his coat but it was so bad around the backside, rear legs and tail that he needed to be shaved in those areas. After all this the poor boy got such an infection from the desexing operation that he could not lay down and was trying to go to sleep standing up. After another visit to the vets , appropriate medication, an Elizabethan collar and lots of TLC from his foster family he is doing very well. He was suspected of being a Keeshond x when originally rescued from the pound but now he?s in care he is more likely a Samoyed x Belgium Shepherd. Whatever his parentage his, he is a stunningly unique looking 2 year old boy, being all black except for a little white patch on his chest and with the classic spitz pointed ears and face, a curled tail and thick long coat, what a particularly handsome boy he is. He is a very lovable boy, he has such a gentle sweet nature and just loves everyone.

Cattle x Kelpie x staffy? - female
Starr is a pretty little girl, with eyes that would make her the envy of many ladies as she appears to have permanent eyeliner highlighting them. She is a sweet hearted, bright pup, who has been raised in a family home and handled regularly by young children and shares the same nice nature that her mother and brother Digby have. She is white all over, however she will probably colour up as she is starting to have the cattle speckle coming through. Her mother was a cattle x kelpie, her father is unknown. It is also unknown how much colour Starr will end up with. One thing that I am sure of is that Starr is looking for a home where she will shine as a loyal, loving family member where she will happily shared cuddles and love.

Purebred German Shepherd - female
Coco is a 7 year old purebred German Shepherd who was used for breeding because she is so beautiful and has such a loving sweet gentle personality. Then 1 day they looked out their window and decided that there were far too many dogs in the backyard and as she was no longer needed Coco was surrendered to the pound. Her breeding days are now over and she is looking for a family to love and take care of her for the rest of her days. Coco is great with children and other dogs, enjoys long walks and of course plenty of pats and cuddles. She is such a gentle easy going girl, always willing to please and just loves everyone.
Unfortunately Coco suffered some nasty facial injuries after she was attacked by another dog. She will make a full recovery however we are seeking donations to help us cover her vet bills. If you can help sponsor some of these vet bills then please call Megan on 9627 2767 or email dchanimaladoptions@iprimus.com.au or click here
Thanks to David, Sarah and Karina for their donations towards these vet fees

Medium Size Cross Breed - male
We are unsure what breeds Ziggy might be, but he has black spots / speckles all over his body, and 2 patche's over his eyes. He could well be a dalmation or pointer x, except his ears are more upright. Ziggy is a very loving, gentle, smoochy boy, who would be cuddled all day long. He loves going for his walks and plays with lots of doggy friends at the park. He is always looking over at me or coming back to lick my hand and to check that ii am not too far away. Ziggy is very easy going and laid back who likes to lie in the sun and wrestle with my dog Ozzie. He is a very shy pup so would be best suited to a home with another dog for confidence as just he follows my dogs around or and lie's with them. Ziggy really is no trouble and will grow to be a very handsome young boy.
Ziggy was adopted on 11 August 2008 after 5 months in foster care

Great Dane/Pointer x ? - male
Sam is a unique looking dog. With beautiful Merle markings that get darker around his back and tan over his legs. We're not sure what Sam is but he has the body shape of a Pointer or Great Dane type and is looking to be a large size boy when fully grown. Sam knows basic obedience commands but needs work on lead and when out and about as sadly he's been a bit unsocialised during his puppy months. Sam is very friendly and loves people. He's good with other dogs and very playful, but a home with another playful dog who is older and can teach him some doggy manners would be ideal. Sam is still learning not to jump up and like many large breed adolescent dogs, he's unaware of his own size. So small kids could easily be knocked over, but Sam's intentions are well meaning. A big puppy, Sam will make a loving and playful addition to a home experienced with large dogs.
Sam was adopted on 10 August 2008 after 1 month in foster care
German Spitz - male
Zorro is a very stunning black spitz. He is the larger type. he would be approx 15kg. He is black with some grey/charcoal around his nose and has streaks of grey through his magnificent tail. From what I have seen of Zorro he is a very intelligent dog and walks very well on the lead. He makes himself at home by moving blankets and putting them on his trampoline bed. He is definately the type of dog that needs to be included in activities. I would say he could stay outside with shelter for part of the day but when you are home would like attention and be inside with you. I think Zorro would be good at obedience etc as he seems to pick up things pretty quick and is very obliging. He would be a very loyal dog to someone who could give him the attention he deserves.
Zorro was adopted on 10 August 2008 after 2 months in foster care
