Labrador x - male
Tom is affectionate, gentle and people oriented. House trained, walks and runs on lead, returns and sits on command, and shakes hands. Healthy, and would prefer an owner who would walk or run him each day. Tom has got on well with our two female dogs and quickly settled into our family life. Tom is adorable, intelligent and a delight.
Tom II was adopted on 25 November 2007 after 3 weeks in foster care

These gorgeous pups are 4 of a litter of 9 that were abandoned in a small cardboard box in a pound.. They are sweet natured pups who have flourished in the few days they have been in care, quickly developing their own personalities.
Taylor
was the biggest of the litter. She is an independent, happy girl who loves a cuddle. She has a beautiful coat which is nice and plush like baby cattle dogs, which is blue in colour with lovely black patches on her back. Taylor likes to play with toys and explore, without worrying if any of her brothers want to or not.
Gibson
is the vocalist in this little team. He is quick to be in there telling us he wants something. He is all blue like the cattle dog in him with a black patch over one eye. Uncanny cos he would have to be considered the pirate of these pups. Gibson started off as the smallest of the 4 pups, but what he lacks in size he makes up for in personality. He is the pup that can take or leave the cuddle. Where the other's will snuggle up to your neck. He will use the snuggle as an excuse to climb up on your shoulders and explore whatever is behind you.
Fender
is a soft hearted smoochy boy, who is the smallest of the litter. He has a beautiful brindle face and lovely brindle patches on his blue body. His endearing nature and sweetness has escalated this boy to be his carers favourite. He may be slightly smaller than his brother's and sister at the moment but his appetite will see him catch up to them in no time. Available after 5th Nov 07 when 8 weeks old
enquiries welcome now.
Taylor, Fender, Gibson was adopted on 20 November 2007 after 4 weeks in foster care

purebred Black Labrador - male
Basil is a lovely natured boy who behaves beautifully whilst in the yard. Unfortunately due to his limited dog socialisation and being neglected he is best suited to a family that would like a dog that is happy to potter around the yard with another dog as Basil isn't an active dog and can get overly excited and hard to control whilst on a lead. Basil is very well behaved in the yard and wont jump up at you, he will sit and wait for his dinner and loves to play fetch which is a great way to exercise him in the yard. He would be great with slightly older children as he isn't bouncy but could possible knock really young children over. He is currently living with 4 other dogs and gets along well with them although needs guidance from his handler when being introduced to new dogs. Basil would love to go to a home with another doggie friend to play with and requires a new family that has had some experience with managing dogs before.
Basil was adopted on 19 November 2007 after 6 months in foster care

Rosie is a delightful little dog. She is placid, good with kids and other dogs. She hasn't had a lot of training but is learning quickly. She is not a barker and would suit a home where she is with her human a lot as she loves people. She is being cared for in the Shellharbour area.
Rosie was adopted on 05 November 2007 after 3 weeks in foster care

Bambi is just like her name sounds a gentle doe like puppy. She is very calm and well behaved inside the house and outside in the yard. She doesn't bark or jump up. Bambi is independant and very intelligent. We all love her here and marvel at how good she is for such a young puppy. She's wonderful with children and other dogs young and older. She loves the older resident dog and looks up to her adoringly. Bambi is a very special little girl indeed we like to think that the heart shaped pigment on her nose is a sign of just how peacefull and loving she is. Bambi's coat is so very soft and bright white with a little tan on her face. When she's wet some black spots show through and she looks so adorable. We believe she will grow to be a medium sized dog.

Lucy was only surrendered to the pound because her owners were moving. She is a total sweetheart who loves life, people of all ages and other dogs. Lucy gets distressed if left alone so it would be best if she were not an only dog. She will bond very strongly to her owner and would make a great companion dog
Poor Little Lucy came down with a severe gastric bug after coming out of the pound. She was extremely ill and we almost lost her. Luckily she has a fighting spirit and after several days at the vet on a drip she has recovered and is doing wonderfully.
Lucy's vet bills in the last week have come to $575 and we are seeking sponsorship to help cover these expenses.
If you can help please call Megan on 9627 2767 or email dchanimaladoptions@iprimus.com.au
Thanks to Spike's new owner for their donation towards Lucy's vet fees

Buddy is a typical big boofa and like most Labs, he loves his food so he will be easy to train. Nothing much seems to phase this boy who is currently living with 2 GSDs and an aviary of lovebirds. He has basic obedience and seems to be child friendly (Watch out for that tongue as he loves giving kisses.) Buddy would love a home where he has company all day, either human or canine or both. If you are looking for a large dog please consider Buddy as he is a lovely gentle soul who would deserves his own family.
Buddy was adopted on 05 November 2007 after 2 months in foster care
American Staffy - female
Pumpkin is an absolutely gorgeous female Staffy. She is Miss Personality, a real crowd pleaser and makes new friends wherever she goes. She is funny and extremely endearing
she is great with people. Pumpkin would benefit from additional training, although she knows basic commands like sit and come. It would probably be best if you are an experienced dog owner, as she is a strong, athletic dog, who does react to other dogs she meets when being walked. She could probably be matched to other household pets providing they were robust (She used to live with another Staffy). If I were not going overseas in 6 weeks I would adopt her myself, she is that fabulous.
Pumpkin was adopted on 31 October 2007 after 1 month in foster care
