Cattle x - male
Hi, I'm Rooster. I'm a loveable and affectionate Cattle x and arrived from a Country pound on 18th August, 2018. I was a very shy and timid boy when I arrived there and after a month, was wagging my tail and greeting the staff at the shelter. I went a bit backward when I arrived at Sutherland, wanting to sleep amongst the hedges and hardly coming out, however 6 days on I have come out of my shell again and am romping around the back yard and now spend most of my time on the alfresco, either on the banana lounge or in one of my 2 beds.
I am sharing my carer with two other dogs, a 12 year old cattle x corgi and a 15 year old fox terrier x chihuahua who walk under me if I stand still long enough. Being older, they don't play as much as I would like, however I am an independent guy and enjoy company, or my own.
My foster carer bought me a teddy bear which is my favourite toy. I also love her hand-towel and a Kong which is full of treats. I enjoy a varied diet and have the most beautiful teeth.
Due to my timidness, I haven't been heartworm tested, vaccinated or desexed yet. My foster carer must earn my trust in order to take me to the vet, which is slowly happening. As I said, I've come a long way so far. So if you would like to meet me, I'd be thrilled to meet you and hopefully find my furever home.
Rooster will thrive in a special understanding household who will give him the initial space he needs to open up.
Rooster was adopted on 03 October 2018 after 1 month in foster care

Cattle X Kelpie - female
Meet our beautiful Roxy. She was rescued from a regional pound on 18th of August, where she was described by them as just so sweet with both dogs, big and small, and people alike. And boy, she has certainly lived up to that. Roxy is such a joy to have around, she is so loving of us but also respectful and goes to her bed when we are eating, always sits when asked and comes on command too - I have no doubt she has been well trained at some point in her life.
It would seem that Roxy has had a few litters of puppies in her youth, and now she is desexed and once the stitches are removed in a week or so, will be so ready to get on with her next adventures.
Don't be fooled by her age, whilst Roxy does love a good nap (but who doesn't?) she can't wait to go for a good walk and explore. She is the perfect example of how to walk both on and off the lead, and travels well in the car too. She has travelled with us to busy places and is not put off at all by being surrounded by people, just loves knowing we are there too and always turns around to check we are following. She has met plenty of dogs, and loves to say hello and maybe a bit of a play, but really she is more of the quiet social girl and is happy to continue on once introductions are over. With this, I have no doubt she would make a great backyard friend for some canines looking for a best friend or a role model!
Roxy is located in Burwood Heights. She is vaccinated, microchipped and desexed. She can't be rehomed until the stitches are removed, but that is only a week away (around the 1/9/18 is when they will be removed). Please contact Gemma, her carer, on 0435 939858 to organise to meet Roxy, and meet a girl who will love you will all her heart.
Roxy was adopted on 24 September 2018 after 4 weeks in foster care

German Shepard X Staffy - male
Zebra is a german shepherd cross staffy and around 5.5 years old. He is a loving, loyal and friendly dog. He is very social- loves to around people, other dogs and has lived with cats before. He loves chasing a ball, big walks and adventures. He needs a good home with a lot of land and/or somewhere with another large dog would be perfect for him. He is always relaxed and will be excited being in a new environment and around new people. He is prone to feeling anxiety when left alone but this is minimised through a routine and a good walk. Zebra is currently in private care, so please contact Rod Simpson for more information on 0418 239763.
