Maggie

Maggie

Golden Retriever - female

Maggie is a wonderful, active, happy puppy. She is in need of her forever home now. Born with a detached retina, she has always been blind in her left eye. Last month out of necessity the vet removed the eye and stitched up her eyelid on that side. As she was born without sight on that side she has always adapted to life without it. She occasionally bumps into things but mostly (as she has no peripheral vision) it's because you've moved onto her blind side, rather than her just barging into things in error. She is fully recovered from the op and there is no further treatment needed since getting the all clear from the vets. She needs ongoing training, but can sit very nicely for dinner, when asked etc She is exuberant on lead as you'd expect from a large breed puppy but with the correct handling she is manageable and will grow into a much loved adorable relaxed walker. Her coat is almost white (except after having fun in the dirt with my other fosters) and so far I haven't heard her bark much. She is very relaxed and happy around other dogs of all sizes and also around children ( I have 3 between 9-16). I would recommend, due to her vision issue, that she be rehomed to a family with older children as she may accidently knock littlies over unintentionally. So if you feel you can offer her a happy, loving environment please give us a call to arrange to meet her. You'll fall in love with this goofy bundle of white fluff when you see her.

Chelsa

Chelsa

Pom x Maltese - female

Chelsa has only just come into care but already I know she's affectionate and friendly with the energy of a dog half her age! Chelsa loves going for walks and walks well on a lead. She is wonderful with both my children and has adopted my son's bed as hers. Chelsa gets along with the other dogs I have here and has paid no attention to any of my cats or kittens whatsoever. Chelsa is a good eater who will eat anything put in front of her, and is also house trained. With Chelsa's friendly nature and love of people, I believe she would make a wonderful pet in any household.

Chelsa was adopted on 25 April 2011 after 1 month in foster care

Matisse

Matisse

Terrier x - male

Matisse is a friendly natured little boy that has just come into care from the pound. His coat is that matted and in bad condition that he is getting a visit from the DCH Dog Wash to clip him and make him feel much better. He is good with other dogs and is good with young children so i believe he would suit a family enviroment.

Is not avaliable for adoption interstate.

Matisse was adopted on 24 April 2011 after 1 month in foster care

Gertie

Gertie

Kelpie x Staffy - female

Gertie is a Staffy x Kelpie. Which is not as high maintenance as it might sound. She does need lots of walking, and enjoys sniffing around in the garden. For some bizarre non-doglike reason, she's not all that into chasing balls - but we're working on it! Mainly, though, she is just the biggest softie you'll ever meet. She loves a cuddle and a scratch and would spend all day curled up in her carers lap given half a chance. A softer natured girl she'll do best in a home where she will be included as part of the family and involved with everyday family activities. She is great indoors, very chilled out and seems happy to hang around and sleep alot but when you're up for an outing and a walk she's ready and excited to go. She is still learning manners on lead but she is responding very well to training so far.

Gertie was adopted on 24 April 2011 after 3 months in foster care

Tess

Tess

Jack Russell x Japanese Chin - female

Tess is a very friendly, sweet little girl. She is very well-behaved and loves going for walks and will also come when called. Tess enjoys attention and likes to snuggle up and receive plenty of pats. Tess is eager to please and would do well with other small dogs or as an only dog. She had been an outside dog but now enjoys being inside and is almost house trained. Tess would suit a family, with older children, or an older couple, or just about anyone who would be happy to give her some attention. Her coat is super soft and easy maintenance, she is a very pretty girl.

Tess is being cared for in the Wollongong area.

Tess was adopted on 19 April 2011 after 6 months in foster care

Rega

Rega

Fox Terrier x - male

Rega was rescued from the pound with his brother Aris and together are a happy pair, he is available separately though. He does enjoy a walk, a good belly rub and lots of TLC.Rega is a very happy dog, he is very good around children, my youngest is 9 but we've had friends over with kids as young as 2 and he's been fantastic, He loves a walk and has responded so well to loose lead training. I find him very easy to train but will benefit from ongoing training to improve further. Given he had little when he arrived a week ago he is doing well.

He likes to be around people and will follow you to find out what you're doing. For our recent BBQ he was able to be in the garden without bothering us at the table while we ate, which is great. He is not fussy with his own food either and enjoys a variety of dry and wet foods mixed in with some yummy fresh chicken necks. He's been easy to handle at the vets, travels well in the car, hardly ever barks, in fact an all round fab dog. He won't grow any bigger and is under knee height.

Rega was adopted on 18 April 2011 after 1 month in foster care

Jango

Jango

Border Collie x - male

Annie

Annie

Jack Russell x Terrier - female

Annie is a gentle, sweet nature, highly intelligent little girl who is also quite timid. She adapts well to routine and change over a short period of time, is well behaved and responds best when approached gently and calmly. She loves the outdoors and a good run, walks well on lead, is great in a leash free safe park enviroment. She is happy to snooze or sleep inside or outdoors. Annie is very BIG on belly rubs which is her favorite thing and this leads to lots of snoozies. She enjoys a balance of loving company and her own space and independence. Annie will be best suited to a quiet, calm indoor and outdoor enviroment with older children as the noise and screams of little ones scare her. She would make a wonderful companion for a sole adopter or a wonderful member of a loving caring family. Annie is an amazing little girl and is picking up the pieces after being abandoned at the pound. p.s. Watch your slippers :).

Annie was adopted on 07 April 2011 after 3 weeks in foster care

Molly

Molly

Medium Cross Breed - female

Molly is an adorable, quiet and very friendly girl who would make a great pet. She has the cutest face is fit, very healthy and has an easy to care for coat. She has some more growing to do but will stay a medium size dog. She likes playing ball and lying down for lots of pats. At a guess she might be a Kelpie x Terrier or Beagle.

Molly has adjusted easily to being part of our family (with 3 kids under 8) and would suit anyone who has love and attention to spare. Molly is currently a happy outside dog and would also love some inside time with her family. She is happy to sit and watch the children play or join in if they call her. She is still at the excitable pup stage but is responding very well to training. She sits, waits and comes when called (well most of the time!). Molly is being cared for in the Hills area and would love to find her forever home.'
