Kirbey

Kirbey

Staffy x - male

Kirbey is still shy and cautious of strangers. He is perfectly fine with older kids but comfortable with small children and wont go near them. Carers sons are 9 and 11 and he plays really well with the boys, they chase each other, play ball, wrestle and have even been known to sneak him into bed with them to sleep So he can only go to a family with older kids. He is very affectionate, endearing and excitable. He walks exceptionally well on a lead and sits at curbside before crossing the road. He is a very energetic dog and needs to be walked daily - if not, he can become bored and will revert to puppy habits like chewing up the backyard. Whilst we don't have another dog, we have noticed he is scared and intimidated by other dogs when we walk him. Kirbey thinks he is a human and insists on people' chairs for sitting. He is an outside dog but is allowed inside and has his own rug next to the lounge and has been trained to understand on your rug as a command.

Kirbey was adopted on 21 August 2010 after 6 months in foster care

Buster

Buster

Staffy x Boxer - male

Buster is such a sweet boy. He loves cuddles and attention and is very gentle and he has that super cute boxer face that makes you melt every time you see him.As he is still a puppy, he can be a little jumpy when he gets excited but he does know how to sit and will calm down when commanded. He gets along well with the 2 other dogs that he lives with but is still learning how to become apart of the pack as he is used to being on his own. He is also very good around young children and my one year old loves him.He walks well on the lead and does not pull much at all. He is a pleasure to walk. As Buster is ok to be on his own, he would do well as the only dog but he would also do well as a new friend for an existing dog and family.

Buster was adopted on 19 August 2010 after 1 month in foster care

Millie

Millie

Jack Russell - female

When Millie came into care she was very skinny and had a serve skin condition. Since being in care her skin condition has healed and she is slowly putting on weight. She is a very sweet and affectionate little girl who loves nothing more than to sit on your lap and follow you everywhere you go! Millie is great with other dogs but would prefer a feline free home. Ideally Millie would love a stay at home mum or dad to keep her company and give her the attention she craves for, she would also be great with children as she loves to play.

Millie does need a home with very secure fencing as she can fit though very small holes and gaps, so a mostly indoor home would be preferable. If Millie sounds like your new family member please give us a call she would love to meet you!

Millie was adopted on 19 August 2010 after 3 months in foster care

Gemima

Gemima

Bull Terrier x - female

Young, friendly girl who would love to spend all day and every day inside with you by your feet. Gemima is a calm, quiet dog that prefers to mingle with humans than play with other dogs. She is however dog friendly and fits in will with her foster brother and sisters. Gemima would suit someone seeking a constant companion, who is willing to make her part of their family. A lovely little lady who is just begging to be loved and adored by a forever family.

Gemima was adopted on 10 August 2010 after 4 weeks in foster care

Alice

Alice

Min Pinscher - female

Alice is a striking looking little charmer. She is very energetic and must go to a home with another young canine companion. She loves to play both with children and another young dog. (She's great with Missy who is also available for adoption). She loves her food and will eat anything you put in front of her. We do recommend children over 5 as Alice loves to lick your face, whether you're a dog or a human and small children can be a bit started by this. Don't be deceived by her bouncy personality though, when night comes this girl loves to jump into your lap and will stay for hours. We don't know if she is house trained but we have found her quite well behaved and comfortable inside. She's very fond of the couch and human /canine companionship. This girl is quite intelligent and if she especially likes you she'll even talk to you

Alice was adopted on 02 August 2010 after 5 months in foster care

Sam

Sam

Collie Rough - male

Sam is the most beautiful 4 year old shaded sable male Collie Rough. He is great with children, small animals including chickens, cats and other dogs. He has been a joy to care for as he is very gentle and extremely affectionate, he loves to be brushed, taken for walks and loves drives in the car, he just so wants to be part of the family. Sam has been really easy to train and can sit, stay, come and drop. Sam is happy just to lay at your feet, loves pats and cuddles and needs to be wherever you are, I often get a paw on my lap when at my desk to get a pat or a wet nose in my face to get me up out of bed for a walk. He has big brown eyes that melt your heart and you can't but fall in love with him, he will need to go to a home where he can be inside when the family are home as he loves human attention. Sam is so well behaved inside, I put a soft blanket on the floor and he snuggles up on it and falls asleep and stays there as long as you let him. He is such a handsome dog, I am forever getting stopped to pat him on walks and he will bring so much love to whoever adopts him.

Sam is currently in foster care in the Newcastle area and he will only be allowed to go to a family in either the Newcastle or Sydney area and a property inspection will need to be done before an adoption can take place.

Sam was adopted on 31 July 2010 after 2 months in foster care
