Oreo

Oreo

Mini Foxie - female

Oreo's mumma, named Nova, came into DCH care to have her puppies in the safe environment of DCH foster care. She had her babies in a nice warm lounge room on a cold stormy night when she was able to enjoy a nice soft bed with the heater running to keep her babies warm.
She raised 5 beautiful Foxie Mini puppies.

Oreo was the 2nd born of the litter. She was called "double dot" when she was first born due to the 2 black spots on her back that she her apart from the others.

Oreo is a quiet, relaxed and chilled girl. She generally take a step back from the litter and allows the others to go first. She loves a good play and good cuddle. She prefers pats on the top of the head. She is not as jumpy as the other pups in the litter.

Oreo will have received all 3 puppy vaccinations and has been desexed, microchipped and treated with flea and worm prevention.

She is ready for adoption into a home where she can have access to indoors as well as outdoors and receive lots of cuddles and attention for the rest of her life.

Oreo will need obedience training and we would recommend attending a puppy school which she can now do as she had had all her vaccinations. She will need additional toilet training but is used to toileting on a synthetic grass matt and or puppy pads when inside.

Located in Acacia Gardens, NSW. Will only adopt locally within the Sydney area. In person meet and greets are required before being able to adopt and a property inspection maybe required. The foster carer would appreciate as much information as possible up front to help try and identify the most suitable home.

Adoption available after the 19th November.

Oreo was adopted on 17 November 2020 after 3 weeks in foster care

Athena was the 1st born of the litter in the early hours of the morning.

Athena is a very confident dog who loves attention. She is a little independent at times. She loves tummy rubs and lots of pats. She is a talkative dog and found her voice before anyone else. She has a little cheeky backchat bark when you tell her to sit (at times). She is very playful and loves to play with various toys.

Poppy

Poppy

Domestic Short Hair - female

Two cute, playful, beautiful bundles of joy are looking for furever homes, together or separately.
Poppy and her brother Max were rescued from the Pound, and found themselves in a foster home full of activity and lots of attention. They have thrived in the care of a family including four young children, three resident cats, two dogs and two bunnies – plus mum and dad to manage them all! So both kittens should fit in happily with an active family, possibly with some furry friends to play with. They will bring much affection and joy. To keep them safe, their home has to be indoor only.

A charming little girl, Poppy is very affectionate and loves to be petted and handled. She is also happy to let all the kids pick her up for a cuddle. While she can still be a bit wary of new people she soon comes out of her shell. She’s interested in her surroundings, enjoying exploring things at her own pace; and is happy alongside the other animals in the menagerie.

Poppy is vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked. Desexing is included in her adoption fee.

If you are interested in learning more about Poppy, or visiting her in her foster home in Ermington, please contact his carer, Kristine.

Poppy was adopted on 14 November 2020 after 4 weeks in foster care

Xena (now Amber)

Xena (now Amber)

DSH - female

Indoor Only Cat

Xena had a pretty tough start as a kitten but thanks to a very caring vet, she is now thriving and ready to find her Forever Family.

Xena was found in a gutter after presumably, she had been hit by a car. She was taken to Rossmore Veterinary Hospital and, instead of being put down, this affectionate little kitten was given surgery on a broken pelvis and saved! Although she has healed well, Xena does have a “frozen” left hind leg which will be a permanent condition.

Being the little warrior that she is, Xena has now adjusted to her situation, and instead of dragging her leg, she swings it in front and uses it for balance. At this stage there is no need for her leg to be amputated but this may be a future consideration.

Xena is very people-focused and extremely affectionate and will meow or use her paw to tap you if you stop paying her attention! She loves to follow us around the house and has no shyness at all when meeting new people.

Although she initially hissed at the foster kittens on first meeting, it only took days before she was snuggled up with them and happily playing.

The $200 adoption fee includes microchipping, worming, first vaccination and desexing. Xena is also litter-trained and socialised with cat-friendly dogs.

Please use the "Send enquiry email" link below, if you have any questions or if you are interested in adopting.

You must be over 18yrs old and an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident to adopt an animal from DCH.

Xena (now Amber) was adopted on 13 November 2020 after 2 months in foster care
