Jack Russell Terrier - male
PK is a loving 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier looking for a new home. He is very sweet, affectionate and a classic lap-dog who will happily take as much love and attention as you can give, especially if it’s in the form of a belly rub!
He loves a good walk, however he’s not your typical high energy Jack Russell and is equally happy to be by your side or snuggled in his bed, as you watch TV. He doesn’t mind what you do, as long as you’re happy to have him tag around and spend quality time with you. He is a little shy until he gets to know you but really benefits from plenty of attention and reassurance.
Unfortunately we’ve had to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome him. We work full time and are unable to give him the companionship he deserves.
PK was owned by my parents. My father passed away a couple of years ago and my mother has recently moved into an aged care facility. As a favour to my mother, we adopted him, but as he is used to someone being at home, he suffers from separation anxiety. This normally manifests in him barking and pacing when we leave him at home.
The ideal owner would be someone who is retired or who works from home.
He is a friendly dog, but may find small children intimidating so would suit a family with older children, empty nesters or retirees looking for a loving and loyal companion. PK is an indoor dog. He spends most of his time inside and has been allowed to sleep on the furniture (sofa and bed). Since we’ve had him, we have trained him not to jump up on the furniture, though sometimes when he gets excited, he forgets his manners. He has lived with another dog all his life, however due to his submissive nature, prefers a quieter doggy companion. He is not a dog who will play with other dogs.
Ideally, he’d be happy to be the only dog so he can have your undivided attention in return for his loyalty.
PK is house trained, desexed and his vaccinations are valid until June next year. He’s healthy, though does suffer from ‘shaky dog syndrome’ that many small dogs have, but this hasn’t hampered him in any way.
If you think you have the perfect home for PK, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact Cathy on 0431 965 783.
Vaccination next due: 28/6/18
Medical Issues or Treatments:He has shaky dog syndrome, so he shakes a lot but isn't affected by it other than being underweight. Also has two sores on his leg, which the vet has said he'll probably always have. Otherwise he's healthy.
Behaviour issues:He has severe separation anxiety. He craves human company and barks and paces if he is left alone. Dog company doesn't reduce his anxiety. He's very submissive and likes to cling to you, but behind your feet. We've tried everything to calm him down and sought advice from a trainer but the only options are to have someone with at home full time or to medicate him.
Is PK OK with Kids? He's not been around kids, although is happy to be patted by them. But given his anxiety issues he needs an older family as loud noises scares him.
Is PK OK around other animals? He's good with dogs, he's always has a dog companion. However he would suit a quieter dog as he doesn't like to play. He's not been around other animals though.
House Trained: Yes

Welsh Pony X - gelding
Welsh Pony X Gelding 12.3hh, 23yrs
Kirby is a predictable and even tempered, well mannered pony. He's good to groom, trim, lead & handle.
Kirby's background is largely unknown, however he's been a riding pony in the past and has had a basic to intermediate level of education. He lunges fine, he's a bit unsure but not silly in any way.
We have test ridden him several times and he is easy to saddle up, obedient at a walk and trot and good in new surroundings, however he's not being ridden regularly.
Under experienced supervision Kirby would suit being a lead rein pony for a young child, or an independent pleasure riding pony for an older child.
Kirby has been neglected before coming to us and has some white hair along his back that may be due to untreated rain scald, however he is also a Roan Bay, so this may have always been part of his colouring.
If you can give Kirby the great forever home that he deserves, please contact us for more information about him.

Bull Mastiff x - male
Diesel is one of those sad cliches of a family who got a puppy just before Christmas, and 8 months later, as he grew into a big dog (Rhodesian Ridgeback x Bull Arab maybe?) they surrendered him. He was rescued from Hawkesbury Animal Shelter by a foster family who are working on his manners and toilet training. He is now going to the toilet on command, and no accidents inside the house, not even during the night anymore. He is a very good boy. He has learned many new commands such as sit, wait, toilet, timeout and stop.
He was a yard dog, left to his own devices to live under the house, but now loves being inside and has two children (age 8 and 10) and another dog (age 6) to play with. He is a large dog, but has a very gentle manner. He is quite boisterous, and if rehomed with another dog, you may need to consider separating them for a while as he wants to play continuously. Our other dog is 6, and so we keep them apart when we are not home to give her a rest. He is happy in the backyard, while she stays indoors until we get home.
Diesel is gorgeous and will be a perfect pet for a loving family. He is a gentle giant, no aggression at all and he doesn't really bark except in play to get attention. There was an initial issue with food sharing, but he has learned that there is enough for everyone, and he and our other dog now eat from the same bowl without issues.
With his humans, he has a soft mouth at all times, he has massive paws and he loves to nuzzle. He will try to climb into your lap in the evening, he is a giant baby. He enjoys walks and is pretty good on the lead but very strong - still some training required here. We have had him off-lead on bush walks and he stays pretty close-by, and returns when called.
He's a typical puppy, and interested in everything, but understands "no" and a loud clap stops him misbehaving. He wants to please, and loves being rewarded with a belly rub for good behaviour. He has a selection of dog toys to chew and he loves to play with them. He often destroys his toys but we have had no issue with any other destruction of our things. He understands what is "his" and what is off limits.
He is smart but like any young dog he needs stimulation - walks, toys or company either human or dog. He is also very comical when he sees his reflection, and watching him drink from the hose provides a lot of laughter.
Diesel deserves a loving home, with or without children and will be happy with another dog to play with, or as an only dog. He is young, fun and adorable.
He was born in October 2016, currently 9 months old, recently desexed and up to date on all vaccinations, worming and flea treatments and he is available for adoption now.
Diesel was adopted on 06 August 2017 after 1 month in foster care
