Pearl

Pearl

British Bulldog - female

Pearl came into care after she was found living in a dirty enviroment with 7 other dogs and lots of cats. Pearl was living under the house and doesn't appear to have ever had any vet treatment. She has had a couple of litters of puppies in the past and upon coming into care was very underweight and had a shocking skin condition which is being treated. After our vets assessed her we've found she has more problems than first expected. Below is a list of her ailments.

  • Chronic unmanaged skin infection: Pyoderma
  • Bilateral untreated aural heamatomas
  • Chronic ear infection
  • Right cruciate rupture untreated leading to arthritic changes in the right stifle
  • Open draining pyometra (or infected uterus)
  • pendulous vagina due to slack ligaments, likely due to numerous pregnancies.

So Pearl has a long road of recovery ahead, which includes a knee replacement, but she is only young and despite the horrible life she has had so far Pearl is doing really well in foster care and we hope that she will make a full recovery from her numerous medical problems she's come into care with.

Pearls additional vet costs have so far been quoted at around $1400.

Thank you to Emmaline, Brenda, Holly, Anna, Vanessa, Kelly, Elouise, Deborah, Henry, Ann, Sharee, Alison, Jacquelin, Don, Davy, Browyn and Lesley for your generous donations, with all your help Pearl's vet fees have now been fully covered.

Pearl came into care after a nice lady seen that she was in trouble and wasn't being looked after in her home, she had had multiple litters of puppies was underweight and had a horrible skin condition that needs 8 weeks of antibioctics to treat it. She is a lovely girl that gets along well with other dogs big and small and LOVES to play ball. Pearl is good with kids of all ages, however she is not good with cats at all and will not be rehomed to a family with a cat, she needs to be inside with the family which is something she hasn't experinced before. Celene

Celene

DSH - female

Celene is a lovely dainty girl, who loves leaping around chasing shadows. Once she gets to know you she can be the most affectionate and beautiful natured cat. She is so loving and appreciative for everything you give her. She's a lovely girl that needs a good home where she will be looked after and treated like she should have been all along. Celene is fine with the other cats, she has the most relaxed gentle nature. Celene is a good eater and is litter trained and seems to let you know with a sweet meow if she has other needs like wanting food, clean litter or a play outside. I believe that she would make a wonderful addition to any household.

Celene was adopted on 30 March 2012 after 5 months in foster care

Florence

Florence

female

Florence was found at 1 week old at a property after her mother was killed, a kind family looked after her and her sisters and bottle fed them. Florence is super cute and a real little character! She loves to play and explore. As they have been hand raised she is very friendly and used to be around kids and people so is not phased by noise. Florence is litter trained and an absolute pleasure to have around.

Florence was adopted on 28 March 2012 after 3 months in foster care

Marc

Marc

Kelpie - male

As a Christmas reject this boy deserves a loving forever home. He given as a surprise present but was rejected by the parents. He has ended up being taken away from mum at a too early age but is none the worse for it. One very handsome little chap who is typical of his breed so would suit an active person/family. Marc just loves people, walks, adventure and is a typical pup who is extremely curious about everything in life. He loves to be around you where ever you go, so he must be an inside/outside dog and very much a part of family activities. He's still toilet training as he's young but will master very quickly in his new home with patience and understanding.

Marc is located at Glenhaven

Marc was adopted on 26 March 2012 after 1 month in foster care

Starlett

Starlett

DSH - female

This gorgeous kitten was born on the 2.10.2011. Starlett is a quiet little girl, but she also loves racing around after her siblings and other kittens. She is very happy lazing around in a bed with someone for some one on one attention and will often fall asleep beside you. Starlett is great with other kittens and cats and is unafraid of our large dog who Starlett probably thinks is a very large kitten and is suitable to play with, especially a wagging tail which makes for some great fun trying to catch it.

Starlett was adopted on 22 March 2012 after 2 months in foster care

Memo

Memo

DMH - female

Memo has come to us after being mistreated by a previous owner quite underweight and scruffy. But She has not let her past faze her at all. She's the loveliest little girl that we have ever had the pleasure of fostering. She's so cheerful, friendly and very loving. She absolutely loves attention and will ALWAYS be ready for a hug.

I don't think I've ever been able to say this about any other cat but she LOVES being picked up. Pick her up to hold her and she will start purring immediately, give her a pat and she starts purring immediately, in fact, just look in her direction and she is absolutely delighted! I really think that if you have the love to give her then she will fit right into your household. We don't have any other animals or kids but I can tell that she would suit most situations as long as she gets all the attention. I know she has lived with kids before and she was more then fine with them.

Because of her previous owners I want to make sure that whoever wants to take Memo is very sure that they can give her all the love she needs for the rest of her life. Please make sure that you're ready for that commitment before you decide on Memo. Whoever does take her will be very lucky!

Memo was adopted on 21 March 2012 after 2 months in foster care

Sparky

Sparky

Terrier x - male

Sparky is a lovely little fellow, approximately 18 months old with some mouthy puppy characteristics when he plays which I am working on. He loves a short cuddle and is a loving, intelligent little dog (6kgs). He would well suit a family with primary age children or older as he loves children but can be excitable. Sparky gets on well with smaller and larger dogs and loves a game in a fenced dog park. He does respond to some commands but needs some training, he walks well on a lead and enjoys his walks. His wiry coat is easy to manage and he does not mind having a bath. He only barks when warranted and would make a good alert dog. Sparky likes going in the car and is well behaved. His cute little face with spikey hair just melts your heart and if I wanted a permanent dog I would keep him myself as he is such a good little boy. If you think he could become part of your family, please call or email me.

He is in care in the Shellharbour area.

Sparky was adopted on 20 March 2012 after 3 weeks in foster care
