Picasso

Picasso

Stockhorse x Quarter Horse

Picasso was rehomed by DCH last year to a great home in Victoria. However, his new owner no longer has the time to ride him and doesn't want him wasting in the paddock. Picasso is about 16hh. He is quiet to handle, and has had natural horsemanship training on the ground and under saddle. He's done flatwork, jumping logs, riding in the bush, he's good with cars and getting used to trucks and motorbikes. He is responsive to neckreining, leg aids, stops and backs up on command. Picasso works well with other horses or by himself. He would be a good cattle horse/ barrel racer with the right training as he is quick on his feet and very smart and eager to please. He would suit an experienced rider to go on with. Picasso is fine in a paddock with other livestock, and also good around dogs.

Picasso was adopted on 14 August 2006 after 3 weeks in foster care

Elvis

Elvis

Pomeranian x Chihuahua - male

Elvis is a very small dog that was dumped in the pound. Elvis is a friendly and happy little dog with some age related health problems. He has arthritis in his hips and a mild heart murmur, however, he is not affected by either problem at the moment and leads an active life. He gets on well with other dogs, is house trained and has some basic obedience training.

Elvis was adopted on 14 August 2006 after 5 months in foster care

Stevie

Stevie

DSH - male

Kittens

Such a happy little boy who is the only one of his litter still looking for a home. Very well socialised with other cats and dogs and loves his tummy rubs and a good cuddle.

Sunshine

Sunshine

Kelpie x Pointer x Collie - female

Sunshine is a playful, friendly and confident girl. She is the leader of the litter and quickly made herself at home with us. She is different in appearance from her sisters being more like a Labrador. She has a wonderful shiny black coat. She is bright and intelligent and should respond well to training. She plays well with young children and shares the yard with 2 cats.

Sunshine was adopted on 11 August 2006 after 1 month in foster care

Jess

Jess

Arab Mare

Jess is a very pretty, friendly, sweet natured mare. She is 14hh and has some white spots on her deep chestnut coat. Unfortunately poor Jess has had a broken leg and is no longer suitable for riding (although she has been well-educated). Jess is available for $300

Jess was adopted on 11 August 2006 after 6 months in foster care

Barney

Barney

Welsh x Pony Gelding

Barney is very sweet natured and a perfect gentleman. He does everything that is asked of him without any fuss. Barney would suit a home with small children that would love giving him tidbits and cuddles. He would make a great lead pony for small children, but is too old to be a riding pony. Barney loves his food, and still needs to put on some weight. He is available to a home that will continue with his feeding regime. Barney is now available

Barney was adopted on 11 August 2006 after 6 months in foster care

Jackson

Jackson

Staffy x - male

He is a brindle Staffy cross with white feet and a very affectionate nature. His favourite pastimes include playing with his toys and his foster carers and he loves sleeping in front of the heater! He will need a home with a decent sized yard or someone who will walk him regularly. Jackson is proving a quick learner, already knowing how to sit and almost house trained.

Jackson was adopted on 07 August 2006 after 3 weeks in foster care
